The Green Point Community Centre is managed by a volunteer Management Committee & staffed by two part-time Project Coordinators (funded by the Department of Community services CSGP), an administration worker & volunteers. The Centre offers a friendly place to meet new people, learn new skills, have fun, join in social activities & become an active member of the community. We are located at the top of Koolang Road–transport is available by bus (route 870). We offer disability access & parking & are a breast feeding friendly facility.
Information & resource:- A great first point of call for new residents or for anyone wanting to know more about their local area & the services available. We have up-to-date resource & information cards, New Residents kits, pamphlets, maps, bus timetables, Community Newsletter & historical information.
Programmes & Activities:- We hold seminars, information days, courses & workshops e.g – Parenting groups, Tax Help, Mah Jongg, Tafe Outreach, Lifeskills Counts courses, Quick Meals on a Budget, Homework Help, Tutoring, Discussion Groups, Support Groups, Domestic Violence courses & support groups.
Equipment Hire:- We provide the following at low cost:- Photocopying, Fax, Laminating, Ring Binding, Typing & Computer, Microphone, TV/Video, Overhead Projector & Screen Projector.
Volunteers:- Volunteers are needed for either front reception or delivering our Community News bi-monthly. All volunteers are fully trained & supported. We also provide for student placements.
Venue Hire & Other Services:- We have a wide variety of groups who conduct their activities from the Centre such as:- Karate, Out of School Hours Care, Vacation Care, Play Groups, Training courses, Craft & a variety of religious groups. We are also available for hire for Wedding, Birthdays & engagements etc.
Call in and speak to us, we are always open to suggestion for new groups & activities to be conducted here at the Centre. We are open 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday; and 9.30am to 4pm on Fridays.
